One of The Indian Test Match Captains.

He is current Indian National congress MP (member of Parliament) elected from Moradabad In Uttar Pradesh in 2009.He won the election with margin of more than 50000 votes.

He was born on 8 Feb 1963 at Hyderabad , AP, India.He also called as Azhar.He scored 22 century in test match and 7 century in ODI . His highest test score was 199 against Sri Lanka.Unfortunately he was given LBW out in 199. He was Wisden cricketer of the year 1991.He played 99 test matches but he could not complete the century due to scandal in match fixing and banned from cricket for life time.

As a Captain He played 47 test matches, won 14,last 14,no result 19.

He was the first person to create score of century in his first three matches consecutively. This record is not broken so for. He set world record of 156 catches in ODI still it was broken by Mr.Jayawardene.His highest ODI & fastest century in ODI world record still he is holding. He was  only person made century in first and last Test Match in his carrier.

He married Indian beauty queen former Miss India Sangeeta Bijlani as second marriage.

 

He won 103 ODI matches and 14 Test matches as Captain.Thr record of 103 ODI won as captain is still not broken by any other Captain but 14 Test match  won record was broken by Mr.Sourav Ganguly as Captain.
