Mr.Kapil Dev.(Indian Test Match Captain)
His full name is Kapil Dev Ramlal Nikhanj ,was born on 6 Jan 1959.at Chandigarh. He was all rounder. He was right hand batsman & right arm fast medium bowler. He led India and won the WORLD CUP in 1983.He was the first Indian Captain to won this cup and became very popular after world cup.He was in the cricket from 1975 to 1994.He was the first person to (One of the Indian Captains) set world record of 434 Test Match wicket and 5248 Test runs retired from cricket in 1994.He hold this record for 6 year This record was broken by Mr.Courtney Walsh ( West Indies) in 2000.He was again led India to world cup in 1987 but he went up to semi final and lost to England.He enjoyed captain-ship and played well as captain than as player.He broke Mr.Richard Hadlee’s most test wicket record and got congratulation message from him immediately after taken the record wicket.
He was become coach for India team from 1999 to2000.
He was a Chairman National Cricket Academy for 2 years.
He joined as Lieutenant colonel in Indian Territorial Army in Sept 2008.
